The definition of a first pressing or pressed vinyl record is a record that was pressed from the 1st original masters.
I ve never listened to miles davis kind of blue on vinyl and there are so many pressings and half the reviews say they are mp3 s pressed to vinyl and sound like crap some say get the 45 discogs is impossible to see which is best.
There seems to be some controversy between record collectors of what is a first pressing as opposed to first issues.
Later versions were switched by columbia records.
