The drain pump is near the bottom of the machine and it s in a translucent housing so you should be able to see if a sock or some other item is lodged in it.
If your washer stops mid cycle and you see lights flashing on the washer lint and debris could be clogging the drain pump filter.
The drain pump could have a clog in it too.
A kink in the hose could be the cause of the clog.
