How to fix a door that won t lock on a self cleaning oven.

If your oven is manual turn all the dials and knobs to their off position. Once you see the time of day displayed on the screen you can open the oven door. The oven door locked when wife leaned up against the front of the stove. Door will not unlock after self cleaning.

Press the oven stop or clear button for three seconds to stop the cleaning cycle. You will need to push and hold the door switch plunger in continuously while you press the stop clear button and wait for the door lock mechanism to fully lock and unlock before you release the door switch plunger. Reconnect power and see if door will unlatch. If the oven isn t too hot the lock will immediately release allowing you to open the door.

If the door is opened and the door lock mechanism is locked to deal with this open the door and locate the door switch plunger. Instead of trying to open it check the display panel again.
